Return to Work CT Program

Local governments in several states have set up their own programs to help the people who live there, deciding who is eligible and how much they will receive in the fourth stimulus check, according to The sun. In Connecticut, Governor Ned Lamont announced the Back to Work CT program on May 17, 2021.

Residents who have been out of work for an extended period may be eligible for a $ 1,000 incentive under a program designed to help them return to work. CARES funding was made available to Connecticut as a result of the agreement.

This program would benefit approximately 10,000 workers

Bonuses awarded under this initiative will total up to $ 10 million, distributed to 10,000 job seekers. The Connecticut Tax Services Department administers the program and it will be completed on December 31, 2021. According to NBCCT, Unemployed Connecticut residents must apply online for a $ 1,000 bonus; no other paper submission will be available.

After eight weeks of continuous employment, Connecticut Tax Services Department can contact applicants to verify their status. One-time bonuses like this will help some employees pay for necessities like child care so they can return to work.

CT return-to-work incentive payments can only be granted to those who meet the following criteria:

  • Have filed a weekly jobless claim with the State of Connecticut for the week of May 23-29, 2021;
  • Have filed a weekly jobless claim with the State of Connecticut for an additional 11 weeks between December 27, 2020 and May 22, 2021;
  • Obtain and maintain full-time employment for eight consecutive weeks between May 30 and December 31, 2021; and
  • Do not file a weekly claim for unemployment compensation with the State of Connecticut for any part of the required eight consecutive weeks of employment.
